Dr. Levinson will discuss what constitutes healthcare fraud, waste and abuse and some of the strategies the insurance industry uses to identify outlier providers. Examples of healthcare providers who have been caught engaging in fraudulent activities will be provided. He will discuss the importance of proper documentation, coding, and appropriate patient management. Dr. Levinson will offer guidance concerning the due diligence providers can take to limit the potential of being involved in potentially fraudulent, abusive or wasteful healthcare services.
