Christmas Greetings from the ChiroCode Institute

It is that time of year.

Red suits. Bell ringers. Lights on houses and buildings. It’s a glorious time to take stock and remember what we have been blessed with. And sadly, in these perilous economic times, what we lack. For some, there is warmth and comfort and sufficiency. For others, it will be a skinny Christmas.

The good news is, for almost anyone, if you clear your mind and dig deep, the “haves” will win out over the “have nots.” So often we focus on the glass half empty, we forget that it is also half full.

So what are some good haves? From our desks, we are ready with our 2012 book releases. Our company spent years, over a decade and a half, trying to keep up with our founder DH Leavitt. This man produced ideas at the rate that most others produce dandruff flakes. He used to tease that he only worked “half days,” by which he meant roughly six am to six pm. In that period, he could send us on dozens of voyages of exploration: “Is such and such idea a good one?” “What will be the impact of x and y on Chiropractic?” “What can we do to help this or that state association?” We can remember at least two occasions when we considered hosting State Association meetings after a beleaguered president reported there hadn’t been a chance to gather one in years. If there was something that could be done, something that could be said, and often a check that could be written, DH was right on it. And when he finally went home for the evening, DH would usually stop by the house of some person or family that needed a hand before heading home to his wife Grace and some dinner.

When we lost his Light, we picked up the pieces and carried on the production on his newsletters and the annual ChiroCode DeskBook. This year the 2012 ChiroCode Deskbook is better than ever, with much new material. And we’ve expanded our connections with the Chiropractic industry, visited many of the Colleges of Chiropractic, attended industry events, grown our panel of experts, improved our Webinar series, added Membership and Certification programs, and revitalized our publications. And we’ve started breaking new ground. Our Complete & Easy ICD-10 Coding for Chiropractic has been a great success.

Great news! Both ICD-10 books and ChiroCode DeskBooks are arriving at Corporate offices on Thursday, Dec 22nd. All orders which are received before Friday, Dec 23rd will be processed and sent out before Christmas. You should receive your orders during the week after Christmas.

We are planning all-new projects for 2012, and most of these products will be available in both print and electronic versions. DH Leavitt's son, LaMont Leavitt, combines being raised in the family business with almost 20 years experience in information technology. The future looks good for the ChiroCode Institute family of companies.

Of course, the thing we are most thankful for—and we constantly remind ourselves of this as we strive to improve our materials and to better serve the industry—is you. Your support, your calls, your letters and emails—all of them remind us of whom we do this for. Thank you very much.

May you have a Merry Christmas, a Happy Holiday Season, and a wondrous New Year

From all of us at the ChiroCode Institute.
